This past weekend I had a chance to photograph a good friend in her beautiful wedding gown. Nikki and her husband have been married since March of 2006 and her gown is still stunning on her! This was a fun, fabulous example of a more tame “trash the dress” session. I am so pleased with the images we captured at the beautiful Gundry House in Mineral Point! Thank you, Nikki, for being such a beautiful, patient, and adventurous model!
This shoot was the product of a great collaboration with hair stylist Angie of Brideheads, a mobile hair styling service. I have now seen lots of Angie’s work, and I recommend that if you’re looking for a stylist and make-up team for an upcoming event or wedding, give her a call! She will travel to you on your big day and create amazing hair styles that you’ll love. www.brideheads.com
Today I had the privilege of photographing a beautifully simple wedding out in Mineral Point. A and N are a sweet couple and you can tell that they are comfortably in love. They complement one another in a way nobody could miss. Together with their daughter C, they make a wonderful family. Their day was elegant and meaningful, and I was so glad to be there!
Congrats, you guys! I hope you enjoy this little sneak preview!
When I don’t spend any time at home, I don’t spend too much time with my camera.
However, I did miss my camera so much that I decided to take it along with me on a business trip this week. I got to spend a fun evening on the beach in Corpus Christi, Texas! Thought I’d share a few fun shots I liked…
I thought that the packed, rippled sand looked like a desert.
Crab holes! These are most likely from sand crabs that burrow under the sand and move around…
Thought this was a weird yet interesting little sight. Poor fishy…
I don’t normally get nice sunset shots, but I like this one.
Today I opened my blog and found a comment from a viewer who found me on Jessica Claire’s Shootsac Blog! Last Christmas, I told my mom my top wishlist item was a Shootsac camera bag. I LOVE my Shootsac bag, it goes to every shoot with me! I recently upgraded the cover to the GORGEOUS baroque design.
When my wedding day arrived, I told Norris Carden that I simply HAD to have a Shootsac portrait in my wedding dress to send into the website. They posted it! How cool! Check it out below:
Thanks to the folks at Shootsac for posting my photos and linking to my website!
I’ll be a repeat customer for sure!
I met A and N last weekend to discuss details about their upcoming wedding. The small, intimate affair they have planned sounds so warm and inviting, I am really looking forward to it! We met in Mineral Point, where we snapped a few engagement photos with A’s daughter, and strolled the lovely historic property of the Gundry House while we chatted about the wedding.
It was great meeting you guys, you are a beautiful couple!
That’s right…a great friend of mine held our video camera at the wedding and my dad just posted the videos on YouTube! Thanks to Casem for being our “videographer,” and thanks to my Dad for teaching us these great moves, and thanks to my little brother Luke for writing and singing that awesome song! I love you guys!
I ventured into the world of Facebook groups, check it out!

Last weekend was a busy one, and one of my exciting shoots was for my sister-in-law’s sister-in-law!
We had an excellent time, and got some fabulous shots around downtown. Here are some favorites so far! Thanks, Lisa, you were an excellent subject!
And my personal favorite from the day…
Lisa, you are a stunning girl!
It was a rainy day, but that didn’t stop me from shooting a very fun location maternity session! I got a few sneak peeks edited. This hot mama was a great model, and her son was a very well behaved soon-to-be-big-brother. Much thanks to you guys! And of course, to my sister who assisted me for the first time. It sure is handy to have an extra pair of hands and eyes!
